Ride from the top of the scenic Blue Tier through remote Tasmanian wilderness and experience 42km Bay of Fires trail from the mountains to the sea.

Spanning approximately 42 kilometres this will be an epic journey through changing environments from alpine forests to coastal heath. It won’t be easy, but it will reward you with roller-coaster descents, jaw-dropping scenery, waterfalls, creeks and boulders.

RIDE PROFILE

Ride grade: Blue (intermediate), The trail starts at around 750m above sea level, descending to 20m. The first section of trail will be similar to that of the Blue Tier descent, being a point-to-point long distance descent. The second section of trail will be a combination of purpose built mountain bike single track trails, existing trails, logging and access tracks and will finish opposite Swimcart Beach, part of the Bay of Fires. The second section of trail to the beach has a considerable climbing section with 400 meters of elevation. The last 6km of descent is fun but you definitely earn it! Being close to the ocean the ride surface is hard packed sand riding through coastal heath.
