Private Charter - Bay of Fires 13km Descent plus Blue Tier & Atlas

Our bespoke private charters are customised for you to experience these epic wilderness rides with flexibility to adjust the ride plan around weather and trail conditions and your skill level.

Ride Profile

Ride from the top of the scenic Blue Tier through remote Tasmanian Wilderness and experience the best of the Bay of Fires trail with approximately 13 kilometres of roller-coaster descents and jaw  dropping scenery through blackwood and myrtle forests, this trail will definitely get the adrenaline going! Then ride the 18km Blue Tier trail, starting in the high alpine riders will traverse through myrtle and sub-alpine forests with 30% of climbing and 70% descending the Blue Tier flows into the gravity action packed Big Chook with epic rolling berms finishing at Weldborough for lunch at the historic Weldborough pub. After lunch we head up to ride Atlas, a technical white-knuckled ride with links into the flowy descents of Dambusters, Krushkas or Trouty or if you prefer we can head back to Derby for some Black Stump gravity trails to finish off the afternoon.

Itinerary
  • Meet your MADMTB crew, shuttle to Blue Tier
  • Ride the 13km Bay of Fires trail where we will be waiting to meet you
  • Shuttle to Blue Tier, ride the 18km Blue Tier trail to Weldborough
  • Lunch at Weldborough pub (own cost)
  • Shuttle to Atlas or return to Derby for Black Stump shuttles

Important info - what to expect:

This adventure ride is for experienced mountain bikers only. You need to be well prepared, fit and able to ride blue intermediate trails. You will be riding through remote Tasmanian wilderness with limited phone reception and access should you have an injury. You can experience a full range of weather conditions on this ride. We recommend bringing the following items:

  • A light rain jacket
  • Essential bike spares and spare tyre tubes
  • First Aid Kits (including space blanket and compression bandages)
  • Water (minimum 3 litres) - there is no drinking water on the trails
  • Snacks - in case you need an energy burst or the ride takes longer than you expected
  • GPS satellite tracking devices such as Emergency Plus Phone App, Strava, Garmin etc
  • Bikes need to be well maintained. There are no shortcuts out, so if you can't fix something, you are pushing your bike out
Remember you can never be too prepared!

No payment required upfront

After submitting your booking, we will contact you to discuss the details of your trip and confirm availability. Once confirmed, a 25% deposit is required to secure your booking. The full amount will be due 14 days prior to your arrival in Derby. If you are unable to travel because of COVID19 travel restrictions we provide a full refund or can hold your booking as credit for when you can travel.
